HUNT Mobile Ads poaches Microsoft man for its Brazilian operations

Rating: Jordao to manage market where 94% notice mobile ads

Brazil is a fast growing mobile ads market and Brazilian smartphone owners are becoming increasingly reliant on their devices. According to HUNT Mobile Ads, 94 per cent of smartphone users notice mobile ads.  The company also claims the tablets market is growing fast in Brazil, too. Styling itself as the leading mobile advertising network for Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets, HUNT needed a Brazilian team and Alexandre Jordao is the man to manage the HUNT Sao Paulo office. Impressively, Jordao was poached by HUNT from a senior position with Microsoft Advertising. In 2006 Jordao joined Microsoft Advertising to lead the ad sales team focused in agencies in Brazil.

Within three years he and his team, were responsible for growing revenue more than 40 per cent above the market, putting Microsoft Advertising in the Number One position in display in Latin America and the Top Five worldwide.

Then in 2010 Alexandre accepted the challenge to take over the role of sales director with Microsoft Advertising Mexico.

Within two years he had successfully turned the operation around and recovered a lead position in the Mexican market.

“I believe mobile advertising delivers what most of the marketers are looking for: – a huge segmentation capability that goes further than gender and age (segment by device and geolocalisation, for instance) with massive reach,” Alexandre Jordao commented.

“With more than 200 million mobile devices it has the potential to become the biggest media in Brazil – and I am sure we will reach our goals with HUNT to lead this huge market,” he added.

As HUNT Mobile Ads is expanding its business with a new office in Brazil, Alex´s experience provides to HUNT the perfect combination of knowledge, experience and leadership.

“With Alexandre’s help, we’re sure we will continue our lead in the mobile advertising business in Latin America, growing strongly and rapidly in the Brazilian market” observed Gastón Bercún, Co-CEO with HUNT Mobile Ads.

Brazil is, of course, one of the four main growth areas for mobile globally being part of the BRIC [Brazil, Russia, India, China] growth sector.
