Velti powered campaign for C4 sees 360,000 mobile interactions

Velti is celebrating the fact that its recent partnership with Channel 4 marks means that it has now worked with every major UK terrestrial broadcaster. Velti partnered with Cancer Research UK and the Channel 4 TV station to raise money through mobile donations for the live ‘Stand Up To Cancer‘ telethon back in October [2012]. The event garnered over 360,000 mobile interactions and Velti claims it demonstrates just how successful the mobile channel is working in tandem with a national broadcast campaign.

According to James Wiggins, programme manager, of Channel 4, “Velti has a wealth of experience in integrating mobile interactivity into live TV events, especially for the third sector.”

Wiggins continued, “They understand the dynamics of the relationships required between the broadcaster, the charity and service provider, giving us an invaluable source of knowledge for future mobile initiatives.”

Velti’s technology platform enabled the UK public to make £5 and £10 donations directly from their mobile device, proving that mobile is a highly convenient method of engaging with viewers.

This is not the first time Velti has shown how powerful mobile can be in raising funds for charity.

Velti has worked with various charities in the UK to mobilise donations and has enabled the public to donate in excess of £34 million since March 2009.
