now that's what we call a rebrand - it is spelt differently
Rating: Universal web is owned by RF cable company
Are we missing something? When you announce a major rebranding exercise, it is normally compulsory that you actually change the name. A good example of a rebrand would be the household cleaning product Jif that for reasons best known to its owners became Cif. Well Netbiscuits obviously has a completely different take on rebranding from the rest of us. It has proudly trumpeted the fact that it has launched a new brand but nothing has happened. From the Press blurb here you would think it has become Univeral Web. But that the URL univeralweb.com appears to be owned by a US based RF cable manufacturer. And if you type in netsbiscuits.com, you still go to a site with a Netbiscuits logo.
We just love the way that other sites have slavishly reported the company’s claims to a ‘rebranding’ exercise. Without checking.
If you don’t believe us, we’ve reprinted the whole Press release here.
