Rating: Former CEO Michael Kowalzik steps down for new challenges
It seems that Germany-based mobile interaction specialist tyntec, has acquired a new captain to steer its ship in the shape of Steve Liddell. He will replace Michael Kowalzik as CEO. The company claims Steve’s unique background – combining telco infrastructure, 4G, wireless and internet software, makes him an ideal fit for the company. tyntec also says that the move will herald the next phase of the company’s growth.Actually, the list of companies where Mr Liddell has spent some time is quite impressive. It includes big names such as BT (British Telecom), MCI-Worldcom, and Level 3 Communications.
On the mobile/wireless side, Steve moved to Clearwire International where he was responsible for the international operations of that early stage WiMAX operator.
On the cellular front, as a consultant Steve helped to lead the acquisition of Eastern European telecommunications operator, GTS.
By no means does Kowalzik depart tyntec under a cloud. He is leaving for family reasons as well as embracing the opportunity to seek new challenges.
“It is a matter of great personal pride that I have been involved in seeing the company grow from just a handful of people to the global 150-person firm it is today,” Michael Kowalzik observed.
“Steve is an experienced executive whose telco infrastructure background combined with his track record for growing businesses made him the ideal candidate for tyntec,” claimed company co-founder, Dr Ralph Eric Kunz.
